About Me

Hello!

Welcome to my blog.  My name is Ann Paris Leavell but I’m often called Annie or Annie Grace.  Annie began as a term of affection by several close friends, but Annie also was the name of my much-loved paternal grandmother and I love sharing her name.

Grace is an interesting story.  The name Ann means ‘graceful’ which I am not.  However, a number of years ago, God told me that ‘for me’ it meant ‘grace-full’.  I love that because since that time He’s been steadily teaching me about His wonderful, marvelous grace.  Actually, grace is a person and His Name is Jesus.  So I love the thought of being ‘Jesus-full’.  🙂

The most important thing I want you to know about me is that I love Jesus and have dedicated my life to getting to know Him intimately.  The more I know of Him, the more I realize how much I don’t know!  He really is amazing and so is His grace!

I’m a single mother of 4 kids (all grown) and am living on a farm for the first time in my life….and loving it!  For now, I have 2 dogs and about a dozen chickens.  I’m planning to add a couple of goats soon!  You’ll learn all about my animals on this blog!  🙂  I love God’s creation and His creatures and I often think I should have been a veterinarian.

I come from a family line of people who love the Lord back to at least 4 generations…filled with ministers, church workers, seminary professors and presidents, as well as those in business who serve Him daily.  I realize that’s a pretty incredible heritage and I’m very grateful for it!  At the same time, that kind of heritage easily became a source of pride and ‘elite-ism’ that had to be stripped away….quite a painful process I might add.  I had to learn Isaiah 64:6 (AMP)  “For we have all become like one who is unclean [ceremonially, like a leper], and all our righteousness (our best deeds of rightness and justice) is like filthy rags or a polluted garment;” (Click here for a blog I wrote on this topic.)

My life verse is Psalms 86:11 (NIV84) “Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.”

I have no idea what God will do with this blog, I only know He very clearly impressed on me to write one….and so I am!
